Packaging tips for problem-free shipping outside the EU

For your parcel:

  • Use a strong box made from corrugated cardboard. If you are sending multiple items at once, wrap them separately and include dividers to prevent damage. Fill the empty spaces in your parcel with newspaper or other shock-absorbing filler material. Make sure that the contents cannot shift. There is still empty space? Choose a smaller box.
  • For fragile items, choose a box with double sides.
  • Use strong tape to seal your parcel in places where it might rip or open up.

For your shipping label:

  • Attach the shipping label to the box firmly and visibly. Make sure that the entire label is legible.
  • Are you using a used box? Check the quality of the box and remove all labels and stickers on the outside. This prevents confusion when we sort your parcel.

The longest side of your parcel can be maximum 1.5 m long. If you add up the dimensions, that cannot be more than 3 m (1 x length + 2 x width + 2 x height).

These rules apply for light parcels:

    • Parcel weighs maximum 2 kg.
    • Longest side is maximum 60 cm.
    • All dimensions together are maximum 90 cm.
    • If the parcel is a cylinder: maximum 60 cm long and 20 cm diameter.

Other parcels can weigh 30 kg.

In case of loss or damage, you will be reimbursed for the value of the contents of your shipment (up to max. €500) + the shipping costs. If the contents only include documents, then you will be reimbursed €15 in case of damage or loss.

You can select the ‘With warranty’ mailing option when creating a shipping label via the online shipping tool. Or go to a Post Office or Post Point near you and ask the counter clerk to mail your parcel sent abroad with warranty. More information about the calculation of this compensation.
